‘The Way of Water’ overtakes ‘Jurassic World’ to become the seventh highest-grossing film in history with $1.7 billion

Avatar: The Way of the Water exceeds all expectations, proving to be a certified hit. Just recently, director James Cameron revealed that the fourth and fifth Avatar the films will go into production due to the profitability of the second sequel. Continuing its upward trajectory, the film has now taken over jurassic world as the seventh highest-grossing film in history with US$1.7 billion worldwide.

There have only been five films in history to break the US$2 billion mark – Avatar (2.9 billion US dollars), Avengers: Endgame (2.79 billion US dollars), Titanic (2.2 billion US dollars), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2.069 billion USD) and Avengers: Infinity War (2.04 billion US dollars).
